The focus of Year 9 Advanced English is to provide a pathway for high achieving English students and to prepare you for future English years. You will work on reading a range of texts to understand, appreciate and analyse the ways texts are constructed and interpreted. You will develop competence and confidence in creating written, oral and multimodal texts, with a particular focus on how language positions the audience. Writing will focus on completing a range of sustained texts. Reading will include responding to contemporary and classical narratives, as well as media and electronic texts.
Students will engage with a range of acitivities designed to enhance and extend their English skills including:
The range of English classes offered at Year 10 as well as the opportunity to early access some of the Year 11 VCE English classes.
Students must be recommended into this class.
Possible incursion/excursion of approximately $15.
