The Course

Unit 1:

Students will learn how to analyse and interpret artworks through different perspectives, understanding how the artist has used personal inspiration and the art elements and principles to make their artwork. Students will also explore personal ideas through trialling a number of techniques, materials and artistic processes to create at least one finished artwork.

Unit 2:

Students will further expand their application of analysis and interpretation by learning how an artist’s culture may have influenced their artwork. By the end of the unit, students will be able to compare and contrast artworks from different cultures using the art elements and principles and by finding common meanings and messages in artists’ work.
