The Course
The focus of Unit 1 is on hazards and disasters. This unit investigates how people have responded to specific types of hazards, focusing on two contrasting types of hazards and the responses to them by people. The focus of Unit 2 is on tourism. This unit investigates the characteristics of tourism, including its impact on people, places and environments. This unit involves fieldwork studies out of school.

These units lead to
Geology, agriculture, civil engineering, environmental science, ecology, surveyor, sociology, aviation, defence force, mining, meteorologist, parks and recreation, outdoor education (among others).
Special considerations
Before undertaking VCE Geography:
- You should have satisfactorily completed Year 10 Geography and demonstrated sufficient competency in all skill areas, or be prepared to complete catch-up work. You could be offered early access from Year 9.
- You must undertake Unit 3 prior to undertaking Unit 4.
