The focus of Units 1 & 2 is on enhancing your ability to communicate, to develop an understanding of language as a system while making connections between Japanese and our own language. The course promotes understanding of different attitudes and values, and provides you with access to the rich and varied culture of Japan.

University study of Japanese, enhance vocational opportunities in areas such as trade, tourism, banking, technology, education, travel and tourism or hospitality industries (among many others).
Before undertaking VCE Japanese, you should have satisfactorily completed Year 10 Japanese and demonstrated sufficient competency in all skill areas. You must undertake Unit 3 prior to undertaking Unit 4
