Units 1 to 4 of Music Performance build on the practical skills, theoretical and aural knowledge and written analysis capacity acquired in the previous unit, gradually increasing in difficulty. Students will undertake private tuition for their chosen instrument and prepare performances for teachers, peers and parents, including an assessed performance at the end of each unit. Students will study theory, both written and aural, during classes as well as develop vocabulary and analytical skills for responding to musical excerpts.

Music courses: Diploma of Music, Bachelor of Music Careers: Teaching/Education/Performance/Musicology/Composition, Music Industry Jobs (Performance and Composition), Music Therapy.
Private instrumental tuition is required for students undertaking Music Performance or Music Investigation – this can be arranged through the school or through an external instrumental teacher in consultation with the classroom teacher.
