This subject will give students the opportunity to develop their skills, abilities and general knowledge as a singer/vocal artist. This subject is intended for students with an interest in singing solo and in groups but would be useful for anyone keen to perform on the stage. Students will look at the different aspects of a singer's craft as well as knowledge of essential music theory for a performer. By the end of the semester each student should have a good understanding of what it means to be a singer or vocal artist and what they can do to pursue it as a hobby or passion.
Developing performance skills as a solo sinigng and in a small vocal ensemble. The unit will also focus on improving theory knowledge and developing aural and analytical skills.
Students are not required to have any prior experience, they just need to be willing to experiment with their voice and perform for their peers.
