The Course:

This course is designed for the students from Year 8 Hands on Learning Numeracy or those with an intention of gaining an apprenticeship. It follows on directly from Year 8 Hands on Learning Numeracy, and provides instruction in a wide range of general mathematical concepts, with strong focus in the Number & Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, Statistics and Data dimensions. This course recognises that students may be working towards level 9 from a variety of starting points and that each student presents with different learning styles, study skills and general interests.

Major topics of study include computation, Pythagoras Theorem, algebra, measurement, problem solving and statistics. Student complete weekly homework and study a topic each term form those listed above.
