11 VCE Geography (11HGE1)

The Course

The focus of Unit 1 is on hazards and disasters. This unit investigates how people have responded to specific types of hazards, focusing on two contrasting types of hazards (examples include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, cyclones and disease outbreaks) and the responses to them by people. The focus of Unit 2 is on tourism. This unit investigates the characteristics of tourism, including its impact on people, places and environments. This unit involves fieldwork studies out of school.

Geology, agriculture, civil engineering, environmental science, ecology, surveyor, sociology, aviation, defence force, mining, meteorologist, parks and recreation, outdoor education (among others).
