With Science we can learn and understand more about our natural and physical environment. This is the Year 9 compulsory unit and it involves the study of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will design and perform experiments and demonstrate understanding of a range of scientific concepts in a variety of ways. The topics you will explore include: "Atoms & the Periodic table", "Homeostasis & the Nervous & Endocrine systems", and "Electricity, Circuits and Magnetism".
Common Assessment Tasks are used to determine progress and achievement. Tasks include: experiments, presentations, analysis activities, online learning, topics tests and an exam at the end of each semester.
This subject leads to further studies of Science in Year 10 and links with the Science electives which are offered at both Years 9 & 10.
